What is Happening Now?

The project is currently at Phase 1 Concept and Feasibility. The purpose of Phase 1 is to develop and investigate in further detail, the feasibility of the project and to identify a suitable Study Area for the examination of preliminary options.

Public Consultation No.1 on the Study Area is taking place between 17th February and 14th March 2025.

We will continue to carry out technical and environmental assessments while incorporating stakeholder feedback from the first public consultation. This will enable the project to progress to Phase 2, which involves Options Selection. A second public consultation on the project’s proposed route corridors will be held later in 2025 as part of Phase 2.
